Dr. Sangeeta Chavan leaves behind a legacy of excellence in teaching, research, and mentorship after 34 years of eminent service in the Department of Microbiology at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
Over the years, Dr. Sangeeta has nurtured countless students, cultivating in them a scientific temperament, intellectual curiosity, and a methodical approach to learning. Known for clarity of thought and depth of knowledge, she has inspired generations to pursue higher studies and careers in microbiology and allied fields. With patience and passion, she transformed classrooms and laboratories into spaces of curiosity.

She has made significant contributions to the department through her work in curriculum design and her active engagement in academics, both as an inspiring teacher and as an able administrator during her tenure as the Head of the Department of Microbiology.

Her sincerity, commitment, and sense of responsibility have made a lasting impression on the college, whether it was training young faculty, supporting students through challenges, or contributing to academic initiatives. The Department of Microbiology and Xavier's Community are honoured to recognise Dr. Sangeeta Chavan's essential service and accomplishments as she embarks on a new chapter in her life. We extend our warmest wishes for health, peace, and fulfilment in the years ahead.


Mr. Rajinder Singh Saluja, Commerce Section (Dept. of Mathematics)

We honour Mr. Rajinder Singh Saluja on his retirement, marking the end of a remarkable 36-year tenure as an Associate Professor in the Department of Commerce (Evening Section) at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. A gifted mathematician, mentor, and dedicated teacher, Mr. Saluja taught a wide range of subjects, including Mathematics, Statistics, Foundation Courses, Regulatory Aspects of Business and Finance, and Operational Research.
Throughout his career, he profoundly influenced countless students, inspiring them with his academic rigor, mentorship, and steadfast commitment to excellence. His contributions extended beyond the classroom, with significant service on various committees, including Examination, IPR, and Discipline. Notably, in 2007, Mr. Saluja represented the college on the international stage as a teacher delegate at the Stern Business School, New York University, strengthening the college's global academic presence.

His legacy is defined by his dedication to education, passion for research, and profound impact on nurturing analytical minds. We extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. Saluja for his outstanding service and wish him a future filled with joy, health, and fulfilment.
