Initiation of Global Alumni Chapters

Warm wishes to our alumni all across the globe! In this message, I wish to highlight an important development related to our alumni connect, namely, the initiation of alumni chapters in various parts of the world.

A couple of months ago, Dr. Bobby Mathew (VP Academics and Exec. Officer of the Xavier Development Programme) and I visited Dubai to meet up with some of our alumni there. Even though short notice was given for the meeting, more than 30 alumni showed up! The group brainstormed over three key focal areas: how could alumni network and help each other in their area, how could the College help alumni, and how may the alumni help the College. The group came up with very practical suggestions, and we hope to soon put some of them into action. We now have more than 70 on our UAE WhatsApp group.

I will be visiting the US in the second half of September, and with the assistance of local alumni, am planning gatherings in Chicago (Sept 20) and NY (Sept 27). Another similar gathering is scheduled for Oct 17 in Dallas-Fort Worth. These meetings will enable us to start alumni chapters in these areas of the US: Midwest, East and South. I am grateful for the alumni in these three areas who have generously volunteered their assistance for these gatherings!

Here is the RSVP form that we have developed for these three sessions planned over the next two months: RSVP here

For those who can make it for these meetings, we request you to kindly select your city of participation and share relevant details as requested. Venue details and timings will be emailed to those respondents who confirm their attendance.

Additionally, we will soon be creating smaller WhatsApp groups region-wise (with your consent) to help with the logistics and tag you into one of the four US regional chapters (East, West, Midwest or South).

Besides these alumni chapters in the UAE and the US, we intend to gradually start new Chapters in various parts of the globe where our alumni may be found in somewhat large numbers.

For those of you who have still not registered on our official alumni connect platform, we encourage you to do so here: Register. You are welcome to join the LinkedIn group here.

We will be hosting our annual Alumni Dinner on Saturday, December 20, 2025. All of you are most welcome to register for the same, and attend in large numbers. Besides this, you are welcome to visit the campus at any time. Please write to the Xavier’s Development Programme email address (xdp@xaviers.edu), so that we may inform the security, and if possible, one of us from the XDP team could meet up with you.

On Saturday, January 3, 2026, we will be hosting our 10th anniversary batch on campus. They have a good number from the grads of 2015 who have already signed up, so if you are from this batch, please write in to us, and we will connect you with the organisers of this reunion. We welcome other batch reunions as well on campus, provided you give us sufficient advance notice, as our campus spaces are usually booked well in advance.

Please do not hesitate to write to xdp@xaviers.edu for queries and suggestions!

On a final note: While we thank Dr. Rajendra Shinde for his many years of dedicated service to the College in several capacities, and finally as Principal, we take this opportunity to welcome the very first lady Principal (In-Charge) of the College, Prof. Dr. Karuna Gokarn. We wish her the very best as she assumes this significant leadership role of our illustrious institution.

Best wishes and warm regards,

Dr. Fr. Keith D’Souza, SJ
