To welcome new teaching staff joining the Xavier’s community, the College hosted its New Faculty Induction Programme on 12th June 2025. With a teaching strength of approximately 150 and fresh appointments each year, the day-long programme introduced our vision and mission, Jesuit ethos (Ignatian pedagogy, magis, and cura personalis) and an NEP-aligned academic framework.
Sessions highlighted active, context-based learning; fair and transparent assessment (Continuous Internal Assessment and End-Semester exams); academic integrity; student life and mentoring; inclusion and wellbeing services; and pathways for research, seed funding, faculty development, and quality processes through the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). Operational briefings on the Institutional ERP, examinations, and service norms ensured clarity from day one.
Designed as a collegial forum, the induction also helped new colleagues build connections across departments. The tone throughout was “excellence with empathy”: aligning classroom practice with longstanding Xavierite commitment to service, leadership, and the common good. The faculty left with resources, contacts, and a shared purpose to deliver a transformative learning experience for our students.
